Squirrely Man

Meet the Squirrely Man (aka RatMan). He's a grey squirrel who was brought to Michael and Karyl as an infant and has since refused to leave. In 1989, when Hurricane Hugo went through, RatMan fell out of his nest and got pretty banged up. He was only a few days old so had to be fed baby formula with an eyedropper. Well, he survived that just fine. When it came time for RatMan to move to the great outdoors, he was okay with it for a few days. He went outside and found a big tree where he proceeded to build himself a nest. All was well. Then it rained. Squirrely Man does not do wet under any circumstances. Then he got beat up by another squirrel. RatMan decided that the great outdoors were not happening for him, no sir. There's weather and wild animals out there! So he hung on the house screens and screeeeeeeamed his little lungs out until he was let back inside. Since then he has used denial as a coping skill regarding outdoors. Outside does not exist.

So, for years he has ruled the house. He makes the humans gather his acorns every fall, he fusses about his horrid living conditions if his water is two hours old, and he keeps all of the cats in line. Squirrely Man loves Michael and they are great buddies while Karyl is only around to be his personal handmaiden and attend to his comforts. Karyl is constantly telling Michael that he needs to speak to his RatMan about whatever has happened now - the latest is the language RM has picked up watching too much cable. Karyl wants the cable taken out of RM's little house, and Michael wants to know how RM hacked into it in the first place.

RM is very particular about his food. Nothing damp is the main rule! ICK! He likes berries, vegetables and fruits. The exception to the Nothing damp rule is popcisles. He loves popcisles. Whenever RM is being a particular troglodyte, Karyl threatens to give him fettucini alfredo, something he just hates. Squirrely Man's main squeeze is Liv Tyler who he thinks is a hottie galore. (Liv just isn't aware that she is supposed to be RM's main squeeze. If she was, she's be here for sure). He keeps putting Liv on his shopping list, and every time Michael comes home from the store, he checks the bags for her but so far, no girlie. RM is getting right grumpy about this. He wants Liv to give him a foot rub and comb his tail. This is a specal thing because no one, but no one, touches RM's precious tail! It takes hours to fix back!

	The Squirrely Man was taking a nap in the linen closet where he isn't supposed to be. The fact that he's not allowed in there doesn't bother him much. Karyl say's he looks real cute but he's actually cursing a blue streak because he was rudely woken up.
